Jenny Saville is a contemporary British painter and is best known for her large scale of nude women and her abstract use of colour in Portrait.
she's a member of the Young British Artists (YBAs)
While exploring the theme of Body, she questions the representation of female bodies in a monumental way similar to a sculpture.
her paintings are almost grotesque looking due to colours that might appear unsettling to some viewers. Hence, she applies oil paint in heavy layers. her studies focused on'' imperfections '' of flesh, with all its implications and taboo.
In her representation of the human form, Saville goes beyond the boundaries of both classical figuration and modern abstraction.
